Itinerary
Friday, March 10th
Grocery shoppers meet at the Annex at 2 pm
Non-grocery shoppers arrive to the Annex at 6 pm
Pack the cars
Group 3 cooks dinner
Complete the four trainings
Sleep at the Annex
Saturday, March 11th
Depart from Annex by 7 am.
Drive to the Historic Spring Site for lunch (Buffalo Trail, Big Spring TX 79720) 4:40 hr drive
Drive to the Bottomless Lakes State Park campground (3.5 hr drive)
Group 1 cooks dinner and dessert
Sleep at the campsite
Sunday, March 12th
Explore Roswell and visit the International UFO museum! (until about 10 am)
Have lunch at Bicentennial/ Alto Park, Santa Fe, NM (about 3 hr drive)
Pick up snowshoes at REI in Santa Fe, NM (6 min drive)
Go grocery shopping in at Albertsons in Taos NM (shopping for yurt food)
Drive to trailers at Hotel Luna Mystica (1:35 hr drive)
Monday, March 13th
leave trailers by 7 am
Drive to yurt trailhead (40 min drive)
Stop for lunch on the trail (BYOBL)
Hike 2 miles to the yurt!
Tuesday, March 14th
Have fun at the yurt!
We should build our quinzee's this day!
Wednesday, March 15th
Have more fun at the yurt
Snowman building competition ??
Thursday, March 16th
Leave the yurt at 10 am
Hike back to cars (about 1.5 hr probably)
Stop for lunch on the trail or at the cars (BYOBL)
Go grocery shopping for the food on the way home at Albertsons, Taos NM
Drive to the Super 8 (1347 Paseo Del Pueblo Sur, Taos, NM 87571) 1 hr drive (check-in is at 3 pm)
Eat dinner at a restaurant in the area
walk around and see all of the historic things!
pre-pack the cars as much as we can!
Friday, March 17th
Depart from the hotel around 9 am
Drop off Snowshoes at REI in Santa Fe, 1:20 hr drive
Have lunch at Park Lake Recreation Area in Santa Rosa, NM
Drive to Amarillo Scout House, 4:10 hr drive
Saturday, March 18th
Depart from scout house by 8 am
Have lunch at Grover Nelson Park in Abilene, TX, 4:20 hr drive
Go home! 3.5 hr drive
