Lost Maples 2016

When: December 2-4, 2016

Who: Crew 1409

Where: Lost Maples State Natural Area, Vanderpool, Texas 78885

What: Backpacking, camping, hiking, remote cooking

Cost: $25 (paid to Troop and Crew accounts) + cash for lunch on Sunday (estimate $10)

Overview: The group will meet at the annex at 5:30 pm for a pizza dinner. We'll leave the annex at 6:00 pm. We'll arrive at the park at 9:30 pm. It's an approximately 1 mile hike back to our campsite. Saturday we'll let the kids sleep in a bit before hiking for the day. Sunday we'll hike out after a lazy morning. We plan to be in Medina, TX by 11 am in order to enjoy lunch at The Apple Store. After that it's back into the cars for the ride home to Austin. We plan to arrive back at the annex by 3 pm.

Note: We will be taking up 2 campsites. We have reserved a 3rd campsite that we may offer to Crew 157.

Friday: Meet at annex (14611 Wells Port Drive, Austin, Texas 78728) at 5:30 pm. Leave 6 pm. Drive to Lost Maples State Natural Area. Arrive 9:30 pm! Meet Daniel and hike to campsite. Arrive at campsite by 10:30 pm.

Saturday: Scouts and Crew members plan their hiking routes.

Sunday: Leave campsite no later than 10 am. Pack up and leave park by 10:30 am. Arrive in Medina at 11 am. Eat lunch. Leave Medina by 12 pm. Arrive in Austin at 3 pm.
