9-11:30am

National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands, including parks, trails, and green spaces. Austin’s annual NPLD event is hosted by Austin Parks Foundation and Texas Conservation Corps. This year Wells Branch will focus on two simultaneous projects. The first project will meet at the Wells Branch MUD Disc Golf Park located off Owen Tech Dr. and will focus on picking up litter, spreading mulch around trees in the greenbelt, and planting several trees purchased by the Wells Branch Disc Golf Club. The second project will meet at the Wells Branch Community Center located at 2106 Klattenhoff Dr. and will focus on trash pickup, invasive removal along the creek with weed wrenches and mulching near the butterfly garden. Remember to wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, bring a water bottle and dress appropriately for the weather. We will provide tools, gloves and water, but if you have tools and gloves, please bring them too. We find that rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows are often in short supply. Both projects will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9-11:30 am.

Crew 1409 will be participating in project #2!
